All the time I hear:
"I can't wait till I'm 16! Then I can drive and probably cause a lot of accidents!"
"I can't wait till I'm 21! Then I can get drunk and have hangovers! Woo!"
Well, it's been occurring to me, I'm really not looking forward to getting older. Eventually we're all going to get old and crusty, so why speed up the process? It's rather nice to stay young and ignorant- it can really have it's bonuses. Trust me, if there was a way to freeze time so I could stay in 3rd grade as the carefree, jolly, strange thing I was, I would jump right on the offer! And even so, I'm pretty glad to still be 14, as immature and spacey as that may make me :)
Hmm... yes, I now believe that, when I am old, crusty, and probably half-crazed, I'm going to be yelling at innocent children everywhere to enjoy their youth...

ReplyDeleteI totally get what you're saying, I tend to sway back and forth. But for the most part I wish I was back in the ignorant, incredibly spazzy but less perverted days of yesteryear. Those were fun times, fuuuuuun times.
